I am currently looking to recruit a Diagnostics Engineer for a role based in Oldbury. If you are an innovative engineer, passionate about your role and keen to work in a varied and challenging environment to bring new technology to market then we are keen to hear from you. 

You will be part of a  team that is responsible for product development and growth of propositions and services in the IoT space. This includes consumer, fleet and OEM products that help grow revenue. Working closely with the Operations and Technical team this role will support the delivery of actionable technical analysis from the products in order to maximise efficiencies of this technology into the business.

This role will report into the Head of Technical to assist him/her and achieve the following objectives:

  • Developing processes to automate the analysis of Connected Vehicle fault codes and breakdown cases
  • Working with the Connected Car Technical Liaison Engineer and Operations team to implement the Connected Car data into deployment processes
  • Supporting the engineering testing of Connected Car products to ensure the deliverable of a market leading customer experience
  • Leading the Program planning and reporting of Connected Car e.g. owning the project plan and ensuring that this is reported against and delivered
  • Working with the Product Managers and Technical Liaison Engineer to define the diagnostics data required to support future Connected Car functionality.
  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of diagnostics capability to support the product through software and hardware partners
  • Supporting the product managers with the set up on-going technical MI & reporting for the consumer proposition
  • Supporting the Product Manager by developing predictive models based on B2B fleets and breakdown data
  • Supporting the Product Managers with Technical Benchmarking and product testing

To fill this role you will need to have the following skills and experience:
 
  • In depth technical knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience of technical project management
  • Working knowledge of data manipulation in excel
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, the automotive sector
  • University degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering (minimum 2:1)
  • A technical and analytical mind-set who is passionate about the way vehicles function and fail
  • A team player, willing work across the business to get things done
  • Problem solver who can work collaboratively to find the right solution
  • A driven and dynamic individual who constantly evaluates their own performance
