Job Description

This new requirement comes from a global manufacturer of medical devices looking to re-engineer their existing portfolio of disposable and sterile medical products to comply with new medical device regulations.  

Joining a multi-disciplined R&D team as well as working closely with external suppliers you will re-design and upgrade products within the field of fluid management on a major fast track project for the business. The contract is for an initial 6 months.

Key responsibilities will include:

-          Re-design and upgrade a range of disposable medical products to comply with new regulations


-          Utilise your knowledge of engineering principals and of the medical sector to problem solve and ensure all changes lead to reliable, high quality and cost-effective design (Changes may include component level changes, changes to manufacturing processes or sterilisation methods used.)


-          Identify and carry out appropriate design verification testing, updating the associated documentation to support new regulatory submissions


-          Collaborate with the wider team to ensure  full system performance is achieved

This demanding position requires an experienced engineer with previous experience in the medical sector. You should be experienced in the generation of technical reports and test plans in line with 13485 standards and the FDA’s 21 CFR part: 820 regulations. The ability to lead design and development activities unsupervised is also required as is knowledge of plastic injection moulding or extruded components. Strong 3D CAD skills are essential ideally utilising Solidworks.
