Job Description

This is an exciting new position from a vehicle OEM looking to bring its software development capabilities in-house. The client is a global manufacturer headquartered in the west midlands experiencing ongoing growth in demand for their vehicles as they win new business and increase their investment in NPD.

An established global business and a leader in their sector they have a large design and manufacturing presence here in the UK.  The business is committed to ensuring their vehicles stay ahead of their competitors and see investing in their electrical, electronic and software design capability as critical to the success of future vehicle development. They are seeking an experienced software engineer with a background in the development of vehicle control systems at an architectural level. You will have the key responsibility of leading SW development for vehicle systems and subsystems in line with ISO 26262. This will include providing technical guidance to junior developers and directing existing external resource until this capability is fully brought in-house.

Key Skills required:

-          Degree in Software Engineering or similar engineering qualification plus experience

-          Several years relevant experience in embedded systems

-          Excellent knowledge of software development processes

-          Experience in the specification software architecture

-          Proven knowledge of and experience with programming for vehicle systems

-          Experience working to ISO 26262

Joining a department that has doubled their development investment this year with projects focused on everything from improved vehicle efficiency, performance and safety to increasing their vehicle range this is an autonomous role with the opportunity to be responsible for full lifecycle software development.  They can offer you a varied role where you will work on a range of NPD projects as part of a large in-house R&D team.
