This is an exciting new position from a vehicle manufacturer looking to bring its software development capabilities in-house. The client is a global manufacturer headquartered in the west midlands experiencing ongoing growth in demand for their vehicles as they win new business and increase their investment in NPD.

An established global business and a leader in their sector they have a large design and manufacturing presence here in the UK.  The business is committed to ensuring their vehicles stay ahead of their competitors and see investing in their electrical, electronic and software design capability as critical to the success of future vehicle development. They are seeking an experienced software engineer with a background in the development of vehicle or machinery control systems. You will have the key responsibility of leading Software development for vehicle systems and sub systems in line with ISO 26262 within the electrical and electronic engineering team. Key Skills required:

-          Prove software programming experience 

-          Coding experience in line with the V-model

-          Knowledge of Can Bus programming including J1939

-          Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Software Engineering or a similar engineering qualification plus experience

-          Proven knowledge of and experience with programming for vehicle systems

-          Experience in system design in line with ISO 26262 or alternatively ISO 61508 or ISO 13849

Joining a department that has doubled their development investment this year with projects focused on everything from improved vehicle efficiency, performance and safety to increasing their vehicle range this is an autonomous role with the opportunity to be responsible for full lifecycle software development.  They can offer you a varied role where you will work on a range of NPD projects as part of a large in-house R&D team.
